Why are families so important in determaning services?

The importance of families in determaning services is based in the fact that the family is the most invested in good outcomes for their family member. Families are the ones that will be there in years to come, the people that represent the service will not. Services may say they want the same thing as families but they will let things get in the way of doing what is right by the individual receiving the supports. Services will not allways be able to do what is right because they will bow to policies, budgets, government and resourse limitations families will not.
