Connect
Learning that your child has special medical needs or a disability is a life-changing moment. As a parent you likely have questions and concerns about dealing with your child's needs as well as your own feelings. You are not alone.
Many of us have been right where you are. That's why we're dedicated to helping you connect with people and services that can help you and your child. Whether it is at the early stages of your child’s diagnosis or anywhere along your journey, we are here to help you, your children and your family get connected.
We offer:
Parent to Parent Monthly Support Group Share experiences and stories with other individuals and families on a similar journey
Family Voices Add your voice to a network of families that collectively advocates for children and adults with developmental disabilities
LACL PLAN Learn more about how to ensure a good, safe and secure life for your loved ones with disabilities after you are no longer here to care for them
Inclusive Education Parent Advisory Committee School district representatives and families come together to discuss important issues and to keep each other mutually informed
Connections to other support groups and self advocates We can help you connect with other support groups which are more disability-specific (e.g., Down syndrome and Autism)
Social Networking We hold a number of events and fundraisers for LACL families, including:
