The Parent to Parent group has been meeting since 1974.  This group has mentored families in the association throughout this time by sharing their experiences, stories and with families who are just beginning on their own journey.  Members have said:

• "I enjoy getting together with other mothers to discuss our mutual concerns and to receive encouragement from others who have similar situations as mine"

• "If I don’t go, I really miss the getting together and hearing what others say"

• "It’s great to share our stories and to able to give and receive support"

• "What I like best is to be able to say what I feel in front of other parents in a small group.  This makes me more comfortable in expressing my feelings"

• "We make lifelong friendships with very special people.  I need and enjoy the companionship.  We are able to talk to other people who understand what you are talking about"

• "It’s somewhere I can feel confident about getting information.  It is where I feel respected and I voice my concerns with people who understand"
